Program Description:

Summer 2019

Trip Highlights

•Visit the cities of Dublin, Oxford, London and experience the
 dramatic Irish landscapes of the Kilarney Ring of Kerry
•Take a tour of Blarney Castle and kiss the stone
•Experience Ireland’s capital, Dublin which is scenically situated between Dun Laoghaire and Howth Head’s rocky peaks
•In Holyhead, North Wales, visit either Beaumaris Castle or Conwy   Castle
•Visit Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare
•In London, enjoy sightseeing around Big Ben and the House of Parliament, as you stroll along the Thames River

The program fee covers for the study abroad program to the British Isles will typically cover:
  • Airfare from Florida to Shannon, Ireland and return airfare from London to Florida
  • All in-country transportation
  • All in-country accommodations
  • Some meals
  • Admission fees for excursions

Read through the Cancellation and Withdrawal Policy to understand payment expectations. This policy will accompany the Study Abroad Application form that you must fill out and sign to join a program.

Payment Plan

Except for the $130 non-refundable Santa Fe College application fee, all payments are to be made to EF Tours.  

Please meet with the International Education Coordinator, Anita Badhwar AND your faculty leaders for this program to obtain approval before you set up an account with EF Tours. Please make sure to read and understand EF Tours' cancellation and return policy prior to signing up.

How to Make a Payment:
To make your $130 payment, go to the Cashier's Office in the Northwest Campus. The Cashier's Office accepts payments in cash, by check and by credit card. You can make your payments on the phone. More info here.

Faculty Leaders
Heidi Lannon

Heidi Lannon is an Associate Professor of Geography at Santa Fe College. She was raised in Northwest Europe and the Mediterranean, and is a citizen of Great Britain. Dr. Lannon graduated from the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland, and participated in field work in Donegal and the Arran Islands in Ireland, and study abroad research in Brittany, France, and Malaga, Spain. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Masters in Coastal Management and Pubic Administration and a Ph. D. in Geography. She spent 20 years working in industry and government prior to joining the faculty at Santa Fe College in 2008. Dr. Lannon has taught Cultural, Physical and World Regional Geography and Introduction to Meteorology at Santa Fe College. She has co-led study abroad trips to Costa Rica, France, Italy, Ghana, and Ecuador.


Susan Miller
Susan Miller has been in the English department at Santa Fe since 1987, and for nine years has been department chair. She spent the last year as president of the Association of Departments of English, an organization of college English department chairs from all levels of higher education and one of two standing sub-organizations of the Modern Language Association. She is a past president of the Florida College English Association. She has traveled extensively in both Ireland and England in the past. At Santa Fe, she has taught Honors classes in Detective Fiction and Victorian Literature, both of which connect to the course she will offer in conjunction with the study abroad trip.
